RAYMOND OZOJI reports
President-General of Obosi Development Union and House of Assembly hopeful, Chief Barr. Chimezie Obi, says Idemili-North constituency has absolutely no representative in the current 8th legislature of Anambra State.
Obi who made the observation while speaking with journalists at an event at Nkpor junction, maintained that Idemili-North state constituency has been grossly underrepresented in the last four years without any concrete achievements by the incumbent.
He said that the people of Idemili-North do not even know if they have a representative in the state assembly and that they don't feel his presence in the legislature because he hasn't made any significant impact in terms of moving motions on the floor of the House of Assembly to protect the interests of Idemili-North people.
Obi noted that the people feel that there is a gap in the House of Assembly which needed to be filled urgently so Idemili-North could begin to enjoy the dividends of quality representation in the state assembly.
The House of Assembly aspirant maintained that he can not point at any bill or motion that has been moved by the member representing Idemili-North state constituency, emphasizing that there is a lot of things to be done to rescue Idemili-North Local Government Area from poor legislative representations.
He therefore explained that Obosi is a very big community which Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has taken note of and equally assured citizens that he is ready to create Local Council Development Areas in communities with very high population densities.
Obi said, " If we have a proper person representing us in the House of Assembly, the person will follow up on that promise and make sure that he passes a bill; present it to the governor who has promised Ndi-Idemili that it will be done but unfortunately we don't have anybody in the House of Assembly to move that bill. "
He reiterated that they cannot point at one developmental project attracted to Idemili-North by the incumbent representative; that if he has done anyone in the last four years, he should come forward and prove it to the people of Idemili-North Local Government Area.
Obi said he was on a rescue mission to save Idemili-North from political stagnation as well as incompetent legislative representation.
