The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has hinted that it is set to honour the Mayor and Chairman of Idemili-south Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi as the best local government chairman in Anambra State.
State chairman of the party Hon. Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, who gave the hint at the 6th edition of the mega empowerment programmes organised by the Idemili-South council chairman Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi at the local government headquarters Ojoto over the weekend, said that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has found her worthy to be honoured as the most outstanding and best performing chairman in human capital development.
Obiokoye explained that they have always had a reason to come to Idemili-South Local Government to see the Mayor perform in the light of the philosophy and vision of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
He said they are extremely proud of her which is why the party is pleased to announce that it will host her while she is leaving office to officially announce that she is the best in human capital development.
The APGA state chairman recalled that they were in the council headquarters twice last year and other times to witness Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi's life-changing empowerment programmes. He was of the opinion that development politics is all about the grassroots and the governor, according to him, can not be everywhere hence the chairman has shown capacity and proven her mettle in developmental politics.
Obiokoye made it categorically clear that every Mayor is a small governor in their respective council areas and when they find Mayors performing in the pedestal Amaka Obi has exemplified, then the job is done for the governor.
He therefore encouraged the incoming Mayor to continue in the same vision of human capital development in Idemili-South Local Government Area.
