RAYMOND OZOJI reports
Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Ike Oye has made it abundantly clear that unless Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, APC candidate in the just concluded Anambra governorship election, repents from his evil ways, he will never win elections in Anambra state.
Oye who stated this while reacting to the conduct of the November 8th gubernatorial polls in the state, emphasized that election victories are not for evil men; alleging that Ukachukwu was a mastermind in the plot to unlawfully remove him as APGA national chairman so as to install one Edozie Njoku, alien to the party.
He recalled that he gave Ukachukwu ticket to contest for Anambra-South senatorial seat in 2018 under APGA but the latter failed woefully only to turn around thereafter to plot his removal from office.
He was of the opinion that the same state where his evil deeds were chasing after him, was where he came to contest for governor, stressing that God will not allow such things to happen in Anambra state.
Oye therefore reiterated that unless Nicholas Ukachukwu undergoes total repentance and restitution, to win elections in Anambra state might be a tall dream for him.
Oye who stated that Anambra has always been an APGA state, maintained that all those making noise about how they would silence APGA know the truth but they don't want to accept it, noting that anybody running election against APGA in Anambra state is just wasting his money.
Oye commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct of peaceful elections, saying that the November 8th 2025 governorship election results was the fastest election results ever released by INEC in Nigeria's electoral journey.
He said that the election results were released by 8:25am on 9th November 2025 unlike previous years election results were released late in the afternoon the next day; describing it as a remarkable feat even as he expressed hope that the new INEC national chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan would sustain the tempo and take Nigeria to the apogee of development.
The APGA former national chairman was of the opinion that the trouble with Nigeria has been bad elections that have been producing bad leaderships, but he was equally optimistic that the new INEC leadership would return things to normal.
He also said that he was convinced that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo would redouble his efforts in order to take Anambra state to the expected heights and equally expressed confidence in the governor's capacity and ability to deliver.
Oye said, " Soludo is a sincere leader and he has come to take Anambra to the next level of global development. "
