RAYMOND OZOJI reports
High Chief Samuel Nweke, a former President-General of Ifitedunu community in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, has said that it is contempt of court as well as a flagrant disregard of court processes for one Uchenna Nwoye Oragwuncha to publish in the online news media a matter that is before a court of competent authority.
Nweke who spoke exclusively to this journalist at Ukpomili village Ifitedunu, maintained that the said Uchenna Nwoye Oragwuncha, who was his successor, disrespected the court by publishing that a South African based business man named Chief Vincent Udobi and 11 others would be arraigned in court on June 19, this year; describing such publication as abrasively preemptive.
Nweke who described Oragwuncha as a pathological liar, serial blackmailer and an individual with no character, said all the allegations he levelled against Ike Dunukofia and the 11 others were spuriously unsubstantiated and unfounded because according to him, it was during the tenure of Uchenna Nwoye Oragwuncha as President-General of Ifitedunu Town Union that the entire community was plunged into crisis leading to the death of one man and several others with their bodies severely matcheted by the touts he recruited, adding that there are pictorial evidences of his claims.
He therefore recalled with hindsight that it was the same Uchenna Nwoye Oragwuncha who accused Chief Vincent Udobi of sending the assassins that killed the President-General of Nimo community in Njikoka to kill him too.
But according to him, when Chief Vincent Udobi took him to court to prove beyond reasonable doubts that he hired killers to kill him, Oragwuncha couldn't prove it in court; hence the court sentenced him to one year imprisonment without an option of fine.
Moreso, Nweke said that Uchenna Nwoye Oragwuncha claimed that he was brutalized and his spinal cord damaged. He challenged him to produce a video evidence of where he was allegedly being brutally beaten before the honourable court.
Nweke stated that for the avoidance of doubts, it was one Nnamdi Abaeze who had issues with the community youths and not Oragwuncha as clearly evident in the video he is brandishing as evidence.
According to him, problems began when the chairmen of the five villages of Ifitedunu, the Igwe-in-Council and stakeholders asked him to discontinue the market stall projects he undertook unilaterally at Nkwo-Ifitedunu; collecting N2.5 Million each for his personal pockets which he said Oragwuncha refused. This he said led to the fracas at Nkwo-Ifitedunu market and nobody touched him because he was not there.
He further disclosed that Oragwuncha who is claiming that he was brutally beaten, sold the Toyota Sienna vehicle and some other valuable items he bought for Ifitedunu Town Union when he was the PG and that till date, nobody knows the whereabouts of the vehicle.
Nweke maintained that he was absolutely flabbergasted to see such publication online while the case is pending before the High Court of Anambra State, stressing that Uchenna Nwoye Oragwuncha is a disaster that happened to Ifitedunu community.
He said Oragwuncha claimed to travel to Spain for medical treatments on his broken spinal cord but all those were lies from the pit of hell because his family lives in Spain and he visits them there. He said someone who claims that his spinal cord was broken does exercises on daily basis at Ekwueme square Awka, drives his car around even with the broken spinal cord and not in a wheelchair.
He therefore emphasized as well as reinforced his position that nobody touched Uchenna Nwoye Oragwuncha and that whatever he is saying are typical lies. Nweke equally disclosed that an out of court settlement was brokered before Oragwuncha approached the court but according to him, Oragwuncha insisted that he would be paid N150 Million as his litigation expenses threatening that he would use his high profile contacts and connections in court and elsewhere to deal with them.
Oragwuncha who he said was impeached by Ifitedunu people due to his abrasive style of governance, is known to be a troubleshooter as he has also dragged the traditional ruler of Ifitedunu to court over his own share of the Igwe's ofala festival proceeds, noting that he is always harvesting where he didn't cultivate.
Nweke told this journalist that the accusations heaped on Chief Vincent Udobi should be disregarded because he is a man of genuine philanthropy helping and assisting people with means of livelihoods such as vehicles, tricycles and a host of others coupled with helping with financial resources to treat people with kidney problems, educational sponsorships and many others.
Nweke however pointed out that the reason Uchenna Nwoye Oragwuncha dragged Chief Vincent Udobi to court was because he boasted that he would send Ike Dunukofia and 11 others to prison just the same way Udobi sent him to prison; threatening that he must achieve it because he knows people in high places as he is on a vengeance mission to tarnish the image of Ike Dunukofia and the 11 others he dragged to court.
