The Anambra State Police Command is set to deploy 100 operatives who successfully completed Combat and Armed Drill training for effective security coverage in the state.
According to a statement released on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command on 11th March 2026 recorded yet another milestone in its efforts to sustain safety and strengthen security across the State.
The statement has it that100 Police operatives successfully completed Combat and Armed Drill training at the Police College Oji River and are set for deployment across various formations to support ongoing security operations within Anambra state.
It further disclosed that the police operatives comprising twenty-six (26) corporals, thirteen (13) sergeants, and sixty-one (61) constables, including male and female personnel, underwent intensive training in critical areas such as arms handling, combat readiness, and drill discipline as the training equipped them with the necessary skills required for effective policing and protection of lives and property.
It noted that during the passing-out ceremony, the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, fwc mnips PhD, who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Operations, expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force for approving the training programme. He also thanked the Commandant of the College, Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Emmanuel Simon Bretet, psc (+) alongside the directing staff and instructors for their dedication and professionalism in ensuring the successful completion of the programme.
The CP further acknowledged the support of the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for his continued assistance to the Command, particularly in sponsoring the training programme.
In his response, the Governor, represented by Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi, mni (Rtd), Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, noted that the initiative forms part of the State Government’s deliberate efforts to support security agencies and enhance peace, stability, and public safety across Anambra State.
The newly trained operatives are expected to be deployed to strategic locations across the State to reinforce ongoing security operations and strengthen the Command’s proactive policing efforts.
