Lilu Women Dare Soludo, Declare Their Children Won't Go To School On Mondays

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

As Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State continues to shut down shops and markets over refusal to open for business activities on Mondays, Lilu women in Ihiala Local Government Area have dared the governor declaring in a viral video that their children will not go to school on Mondays because of insecurity in the area.

The women unanimously claimed that Lilu community has been abandoned to her fate since 2021 while hoodlums lurking in the bushes unleashed terror and mayhem on the town making it a victim of constant killings.

The women who spoke in unison in the said viral video, dared Governor Soludo to close the schools because on no account will their children step out on Mondays to attend school let alone engage in any commercial activities.

They expressed worry that having won his second term election, the governor's major concern was to declare that all schools and markets will henceforth commence Monday activities in spite of the perennial Sit-At-Home order.

They queried the rationale for such decision, asking where was the governor when Lilu community was on fire ? They said the governor's children were abroad and he is asking them to make their own children sacrificial lambs to end Monday sit-at-home in the area.

The women maintained that Lilu community is in danger and their children won't come out on Mondays for any reason because the community has not been safe since 2021.

Apart from Lilu community, further investigations however revealed that the Monday sit-at-home still persist in Ihiala Local Government Area as most schools do not operate on Mondays while commercial activities are halted until about 3pm for scanty sales on Mondays.

It would be recalled that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo had placed a marching order that the atavistic Monday sit-at-home must end forthwith and that all schools, markets, business premises and corporate organizations operating within Anambra State must resume activities on Mondays and failure to comply with the directive will attract stiff sanctions.
