Anambra Community Leader Lauds INEC, Security Agencies For Conduct Of Peaceful Governorship Polls

The President-General Building Materials International Market Ogidi, High Chief Jude Nwankwo (Ochendo Umuawulu) has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for the conduct of what he described as a very peaceful and credible governorship polls last Saturday in Anambra state. 


Nwankwo who stated that the election which was won by Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, was a true reflection of the will of the people, noted that from the campaigns to the election proper, Anambra people supported Governor Soludo for him to continue in office because they were pleased with his first term performance. 


He said that the election was very peaceful and that INEC workers did very well including security agencies who ensured a peaceful atmosphere for the conduct of the election. According to him, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won in all the polling boots in his community Umuawulu and the entire Awka-South Local Government Area, stressing that Anambra is APGA land. 


The community leader who admonished INEC to continue upgrading inorder to maintain credibility of elections, also tasked electorates to always endeavour to come out early to exercise their voting rights to avoid challenges of lateness while urging politicians to always play by the rules during elections. 


He equally stated that Ndi-Anambra supported Governor Soludo financially and otherwise and voted him massively in the just concluded governorship election. That it is now time for the governor to reciprocate the citizens' kind gestures by redoubling his efforts because expectations are very high. 


He therefore prayed that God should grant Soludo more wisdom and direction inorder for him to fulfill his campaign promises to Ndi-Anambra.
