RAYMOND OZOJI reports
It was a celebration of victory at last at St. Martin catholic church field Odata Ihiala on Thursday 16th October, 2025 as Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo declared that Ihiala Local Government Area has been rescued and liberated from the treachery and tyranny of men of the underworld troubling the area for more than five years.
Governor Soludo while addressing the people with empathy during his campaign tour to Ihiala hailed decision of those who resolved to repent from their sins and begin a new life as his administration promised to rehabilitate and reintegrate them back to the society while appealing to others still in the bushes to surrender their weapons and come out from the forests because his government will also grant them amnesty.
Soludo however warned that anyone still connected to or acting as informants to criminals in the bushes should desist forthwith because he would be coming after them like a thief in the night. That it would be in their best interest to turn a new leaf because he is coming on a massive cleansing of Ihiala Local Government Area especially the Ebonesie zone of the council area.
The governor said he was overjoyed because it's a new dawn in Ihiala Local Government and that Ihiala will move forward. That with the criminals out of the way, youths still lurking in the bushes should come out from their hideouts because his government is ready to help them start a fresh and live long, stressing that nobody has ever lived long by wielding guns in the bush.
He maintained that youths were dying needlessly in Ihiala and that now his administration has won the war against criminals in the area and reclaimed communities, he urged all communities to stand-up because there is a limit to what government or a private person can do in the fight against insecurity.
Soludo therefore charged Ihiala people to take back their communities because he believes very strongly that the criminals live amongst the people. He emphasized that Ihiala must be cleansed so that development in the area can endure.
The governor therefore noted that his administration has spent quite a bit of resources fighting criminals in the state; that now that everywhere is calm and quiet, Anambra should expect another phase of massive infrastructural revolution in the next four years even as Ihiala people assured him that he will not lose a single vote in the council area come November 8th this year.
