The Anambra State Police Command has declared no cause for alarm or threats of any kind on Monday the 20th day of October, 2025 following credible intelligence of a planned protest in some parts of the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command SP Tochukwu Ikenga and made available to journalists on Sunday 19th October, 2025.
The statement reads: "The Anambra State Police Command has conducted a security situational assessment following credible intelligence reports about a planned protest in some parts of the State.
The assessment revealed that residents, particularly Ndi Anambra, have embraced dialogue and peaceful engagement as a means of addressing concerns, rather than indulging in unpatriotic actions such as protests, illegal sit-at-home orders, or any form of civil disturbance that disrupts public peace and socio-economic activities.
The Command commends the good people of Anambra State for their growing commitment to peace, unity, and progress. It further assures that adequate security arrangements have been emplaced to sustain the existing peace and to ensure that law-abiding citizens continue their legitimate activities without fear.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reiterates that the Command under his watch will continue to adopt proactive measures, strengthen community policing strategies, and collaborate with critical stakeholders to maintain security, law, and order across the State. ".
