RAYMOND OZOJI reports

The Chairman Idemili-South Local Government Area of Anambra state, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Amaka Obi has endorsed comrade Okwuchukwu Okonkwo's ambition to occupy the office of the Secretary-General National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).

Obi who gave her blessings and endorsement when the aspirant paid her a courtesy visit at the council headquarters Ojoto, described Okwuchukwu Okonkwo as a capable hand; reliable and trustworthy.

She said that testimonials of the candidate can not be overemphasized because Okwuchukwu Okonkwo is someone that she has known for quite some time and that the youngster who had occupied various leadership positions in the past, has proved his mettle as an astute administrator capable of bringing fresh ideas in the affairs of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).

She said would join forces with other well-meaning Idemili-South people and Ndi-Anambra at large to mobilise massive support for him to ensure that he is elected for his aspiration to come to fruition as the NYCN holds her nationwide congress in Abuja this week.

Responding, Okwuchukwu Okonkwo described Amaka Obi's blessings as a powerful endorsement. He noted that it was the first time the office of the Secretary-General was coming to Anambra state about 61 years ago, when the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) was established.

He also added that if elected, he would deploy his wealth of experience and knowledge to make a significant and symbolic difference in his new office.
