Amaka Obi Empowers Idemili-South Children With Education Materials, Promises More Largese

Idemili-South Local Government Chairman Hon. Dr. Mrs. Amaka Obi has again reiterated her unalloyed commitment and resolve to the educational development of Idemili-South school children. 


This reaffirmation was the hallmark of the commemoration of the 65th Independence Day Celebration at the council headquarters Ojoto amidst acrobatic cultural dance displays by primary and secondary school pupils.


Obi who highlighted the ripple effects of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo's free education policy in all government schools in the state, noted that children from less-privileged families can now afford western education without tears because the governor believes children are the future hope of the state and the country at large. 


Obi therefore provided school bags, books, writing kits and other materials to pupils from Isu Primary School Oba, Ezike Central School Ahuda Nnobi, Community Central School Nnobi, Community Central School Awka-Etiti, Central School Ojoto-Uno, Community Primary School Ojoto-Uno, Umuene Primary School Ojoto, St. Joseph Seminary School Awka-Etiti, Triumphant Cross Secondary School Oba, St. Cordelia's Nursery and Primary School Ojoto, Idemili Primary School Nnokwa, to mention a few of the schools, stressing that all the materials were given to the pupils and schools free of charge because the government of the day cares even as she promised the schools more largese as education is a top priority in her development agenda. 


She was therefore of the opinion that her administration has remained deeply committed to ensuring that the dividends of democracy reached every community, household and individual in Idemili-South Local Government Area, adding that her regime has also worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the people through infrastructural development, youth empowerment, healthcare delivery, and educational supports. 


Meanwhile emeritus chairman of Idemili-North and Idemili-South Local Government Areas Rt.Hon.Dr. Tony Ezika hailed Amaka Obi's administration, saying that she is doing exceedingly well and the children love her so much. 


Also the councilor representing Nnokwa ward and Deputy Leader of Idemili-South Legislative Council Hon. Valentine Mbadiugha, said the reflections of Amaka Obi's transformative leadership is being felt in every nook and cranny of Idemili-South especially in Nnokwa community where she is transforming lives through education and other sectors of the economy. 


The Director of Information at St. Joseph Seminary School Awka-Etiti Rev. Fr. Aloysius Okoye equally commended Amaka Obi's efforts especially in education where he observed that the Mayor has really done a lot to ensure that quality learning remained the benchmark in all the schools in Idemili-South Local Government Area. 


Mrs. Ifeyinwa Agu, a teacher from Central School Nnokwa, said Amaka Obi has indeed brought a significant difference in the governance of Idemili-South and has ensured grassroots development through youth empowerment programmes while commending her too for providing free educational materials for school children in the council area, emphasizing that her administration has catapulted Idemili-South to the rest of the world. 


Master Chibuike Divine and Miss Chidiebube Ike both of Central School Nnokwa, who did renditions in Igbo language, said they love Amaka Obi because she treats children very well and that her love for Idemili-South children can not be overemphasized.
