2027: Obiogbolu Set To End Era Of Broken Promises In Anambra-North

From Isaac Ojo

Ahead of the May 23rd All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) primaries for the National Assembly elections, the frontline senatorial hopeful for the Anambra North Senatorial zone, Dr Alex Obiogbolu, has expressed his readiness to end the era of broken promises in the area.

Dr Obiogbolu who was fielding questions from newsmen in Onitsha, noted that it has become common among some politicians to make lofty promises to their constituents during electioneering campaigns only to abandon them shortly after 'swindling' them of their votes.

Dr Obiogbolu, a former Special Adviser to Gov. Charles Soludo on Political Matters, pointed out that the few who dare to fulfill their electoral promises to the people of Anambra North Senatorial zone in recent times do so haphazardly.

The Senate hopeful assured his constituents that with his election victory in the 2027 National Assembly elections, the story would change for the better under his watch.

He vowed to end the era of Okada, abada, caps, and T-shirts empowerment noting that his constituents would be effectively and concretely empowered.

"During election periods, political office seekers normally build castles in the air by making promises of what they never intended to accomplish, the best way to see through such a facade is to critically examine the antecedents of the person making promises.

"For me, the records are there, as the Chairman of Anambra State Local Government Commission in 1999, I employed over four thousand persons who are now Senior officers in the commission.

"There are so many interventions I have carried out quietly to ensure that people are empowered to actualize their respective aspirations in life," he asserted.

Dr Obiogbolu reassured the people of Anambra North Senatorial zone of credible, responsible, and responsive representation at the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
