Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Idemili-North and South federal constituency election in Anambra State, Hon. Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu (Ike-Cubana) has commended Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for extending his prerogative of mercy to his Idemili brother, Chigozie Nwangwu popularly known as Akwa Okuko.
It would be recalled that Akwa Okuko is a multimillionaire native doctor and traditional medicine man who was famous for esoterica and exorcism thereby luring youths and young people into quick wealth and get-rich or die trying syndrome through inexplicable means.
He was arrested by the Soludo administration during the raid and clampdown on fake native doctors, fake herbal medicine practitioners, fake prophets and fake prophetesses, to mention some of them and was remanded in prison custody after pleading guilty in court for various criminal offences.
Ike Cubana who made the commendations in his palatial country home Oba Idemili-South Local Government Area while speaking to this journalist exclusively, said the governor did well by going to the prison himself to release Akwa Okuko from detention, signed the bail bond; gave him pardon and released him to Oba people.
Iyiegbu noted that there is no gainsaying the fact that Oba people is happy with the government of Anambra State for releasing their brother to them. He said Akwa Okuko has served his term. That he did well while in custody and was of good conduct which he said was the reason Akwa Okuko was released from prison custody even before his jail term elapsed.
Iyiegbu however prayed that as Akwa Okuko has been made Ambassador for Youth Reformation in Anambra State, he should live up to it and be of good behaviour and good character and also project and portray the ambassadorial trust the governor reposed in him; describing him as a young man that still has a very long way to go in life.
Ike Cubana maintained that Akwa Okuko has hotels and businesses around and if he invests his time and energy in his in his businesses and investments, he would prosper beyond his imaginations even as he described Akwa Okuko as a man with a benevolent heart serving humanity with genuine philanthropy.
The APGA Reps candidate however admonished youths to be of good behaviour and religiously follow Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's mantra of legitimate labour which breeds genuine wealth, adding that there is no shortcuts to success and everyone must strive and genuinely work hard for long lasting wealth and wellbeing.
