2027: John Metchie Set To Rescue Anambra-East And West From Poor Representation

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

Amb. Dr. John Metchie, Anambra-born international business mogul has stated that the need for Anambra-East and West federal constituency to have better representation at the Green Chambers of the National Assembly in 2027 can not be overemphasized.

Metchie who spoke to this journalist exclusively in his palatial country home Umueri in Anambra-East Local Government Area, said he has carefully studied the situation and investigations revealed that the people are clamouring for a positive change in the next political dispensation.

He disclosed that his investigations further revealed that the constituency lacked federal presence and the people are no longer comfortable with the situation, adding that his ambition for the Federal House of Representatives stem from the fact that the people needed emancipation from what he described as poor representation.

Dr. Metchie who earned himself the traditional titles of Ezi Umueri and Ife Omambala respectively for his unwavering commitment to community development service and genuine philanthropy in Anambra-East and West Local Government Areas and beyond, told this journalist that as a private person who is being motivated by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's Public Private Community Partnership Model , said he has done a lot to uplift as well as improve the living conditions of the people of Anambra-East and West federal constituency.

He said that his interventions in security,  education, healthcare and other aspects of human and infrastructural developments have brought new lease of life to many families especially the less privileged ones vulnerable to the society.

Amb. Metchie who is also a security expert, maintained that he singlehandedly built a joint security base at the border between Anambra-East and West Local Government Areas comprising military personnel and other security operatives to frontally tackle the menace of armed robbery, kidnapping and all manner of criminalities in the area.

Metchie emphasized that the initiative has helped to restore a tranquil atmosphere in the Omambala region as the presence of security personnel on 24 hours basis has changed the narratives of incessant criminal insurgence in the area.

He therefore reinforced his position that his burning desire to provide people-oriented representation for Anambra-East and West federal constituency is borne out of a selfless disposition to attract federal government presence to the region because it is a lacuna at the moment.

The International business mogul and House of Representatives hopeful, who had earlier congratulated Governor Soludo on his second term inauguration, noted that the governor performed exceedingly well in his first term, which he said was the remote reason Ndi-Anambra reelected him again.

He was of the opinion that Governor Soludo's transformative governance model should be replicated in Anambra-East and West federal constituency and that it takes an individual who is development oriented like the governor to address the level of developmental backwardness in Anambra-East and West occasioned by poor political representation in the federal legislatures.

He however restated his utmost resolve to change the status quo, if given the mandate because he believes very strongly that Anambra-East and West deserve better representation in 2027.
