2027: Beware Of Indomie Politicians, Metchie Cautions Anambra-East, Anambra-West Constituents

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

President-General of Umueri community in Anambra-East Local Government Area of Anambra state and grassroots political juggernaut, Chief John Metchie, has cautioned the people of Anambra-East and Anambra-West federal constituency to beware of those he described as Indomie politicians.

Metchie who spoke to journalists in Otuocha, Anambra-East council area, said those he described as Indomie politicians were the crop of politicians who did virtually nothing with constituency project funds for the people rather accumulated the funds for the purchase of Indomie noodles, bags of rice, groundnut oil and others to deceive the people in an election year.

Metchie who is currently aspiring to represent Anambra-East and Anambra-West at the House of Representatives next year, maintained that there is absolutely nothing to show that Anambra-East and Anambra-West have a representative at the National Assembly.

He therefore emphasized the need for the people to resist the temptations of bags of rice, Indomie noodles and other items the politicians will come with so they don't mortgage their collective future for another four years.

Metchie who is a grassroots politician and community development expert, said enough is enough and the likes of him will no longer keep mute and watch Anambra-East and Anambra-West suffer from abysmal representation.

He said his opinion poll revealed that the people are voraciously and ferociously clamouring for a replacement in the next political dispensation because the incumbent has failed them woefully.

The Umueri PG said his sojourn overseas has taught him that the purpose of government and political representation was for those in positions of authority to provide for the people what they can not do for themselves and not to divert the funds for selfish gains and ulterior motives thereby denying the masses basic amenities and infrastructures.

Metchie who commended Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for his efforts in meeting the expectations of Ndi-Anambra, said next year's election won't be business as usual because the people will no longer be deceived with bags of rice and cartons of Indomie noodles anymore.

He therefore insisted that Anambra-East and Anambra-West must send a competent person who understands the peculiarities and fundamental needs of the areas to be their voice in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and he is in good stead to provide that voice.
