RAYMOND OZOJI reports
The Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) has commenced beautifications of the state capital Awka ahead of the March 17th swearing-in ceremony and inauguration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo's second term administration.
A tour of some major parts of the state capital conducted by this journalist revealed workers on the Three Arms zone of the capital city working on the road that connects the House of Assembly, the Judiciary complex and the Light House (Government House) to make it motorable.
Workers were also spotted on Emeka Anyaoku Boulevard leading to the Light House and also on the flyover bridges in the heart of the state capital; all to ensure that the capital city wears a new and befitting look as the state plans to host the world on March 17 this year.
Speaking exclusively with this journalist, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) Dr. Ossy Onuko, said Anambra State is welcoming the world to the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo taking place in Awka; hence ACTDA is beautifying the entire vicinity of the state capital.
Onuko also pointed out that ACTDA is working massively from Immigration junction Awka to the International Convention Centre along the Awka-Enugu federal highway removing shanties and structures that could constitute eyesore to the public.
Onuko equally added that beggars, lunatics and all manner of destitutes have been raided from the capital city to ensure that nothing of such constituted public nuisance as Awka host the world to a memorable inauguration ceremony on March 17th this year.
