RAYMOND OZOJI reports
The acceptance was massive at the Aguata Local Government Area Secretariat Aguata on Saturday May 9, 2026 as Arc. Okonkwo Chukwuka Williams popularly known as OC Bravo formally declared his intention to represent Aguata 2 state constituency (Aguata-North) in the state assembly next year.
Speeches after speeches rent the air as the people unanimously passed a vote of confidence and validation that OC Bravo would redeem Aguata-North from what they described as selfish representation which they said has plunged Aguata 2 constituency into the abyss.
APGA stakeholders and other well-meaning individuals who travelled from far and wide to witness Arc. Okonkwo Chukwuka Williams' formal declaration ceremony, maintained that the astute administrator, erudite politician and business mogul is poised to bring the change the people of Aguata-North have been yearning for.
The President-General of Aguluezechukwu Improvement Union, Nze JohnPaul Ezenwaka, said OC Bravo is philanthropic and humanitarian in nature. He said that the aspirant revived the Awka branch of Aguluezechukwu Improvement Union and facilitated its affiliation to the mother union.
Ezenwaka who said he should be held responsible if OC Bravo disappointed the people of Aguata 2 constituency, insisted that he has endorsed his ambition because he believes OC Bravo has what it takes to change the status quo in Aguata-North.
Ezenwaka maintained that if OC Bravo was not trustworthy, he wouldn't have left his business in Lagos State to attend his declaration ceremony, adding that Arc. Okonkwo Chukwuka Williams is coming to change the entire Aguata-North and that those that have served before him would be mocked.
Chief Eze Chukwuma who flew in from Abuja to attend OC Bravo's declaration ceremony, said in all honesty that the incumbent has absolutely no reason to contest again because it would amount to shooting himself in the leg as he is one of the proponents of a single term of four years in Aguata-North.
The Abuja-based business magnate said his analysis and assessment of Aguata-North in the last three years is regrettably pathetic because according to him, there is no sign whatsoever that Aguata 2 constituency has a representative in the legislature.
The Abuja-based business mogul however endorsed Arc. Okonkwo Chukwuka Williams' aspiration, noting that the latter is not coming to make money because he is the owner of OC Bravo Transport Company and other conglomerates but coming to provide a people-oriented representation for Aguata-North.
Meanwhile, Lady Gloria Anaedu, an APGA stalwart in Aguata-North, said Aguluezechukwu and indeed the entire Aguata-North are happy because they have gotten a suitable replacement. She said OC Bravo is capable and has all it takes to contest and win the Aguata 2 constituency election.
Lady Anaedu who stated that OC Bravo is tested and trusted, pointed out that Aguluezechukwu is the only town in Aguata-North that has not represented the constituency. She therefore emphasized that her support for OC Bravo is total and unflinching and that she would also fight tooth and nail to galvanise as well as mobilise the grassroots to rally round OC Bravo.
