A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2021 Anambra gubernatorial election, Dr. Amobi Nwokafor FCA, MFR, has observed that the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been deceiving and manipulating APC ; pretending to support APC at the national level while it maltreated members of the state chapter of the party in Anambra.
Nwokafor who spoke exclusively to this journalist, also observed that every successive governor of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) would want to be friends with the President of Nigeria with a promise that they would deliver Anambra State to APC.
But from history, according to him, APGA has not been able to do that. He was however of the opinion that the high time they realized that it is only when there is a sitting APC governor in Anambra that the state can be delivered to APC; that anything on the contrary, APC will continue to loose elections in Anambra State and would not get even up to 25%.
Nwokafor, who was a former President-General of Awka Development Union Nigeria (ADUN) maintained that the only way APC will win 25% of votes in Anambra State is to have an APC governor, adding that APGA has been manipulating APC and succeeding too.
The renowned accountant observed that ex-govermor Willie Obiano played the trick and succeeded. That currently the incumbent governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has equally played the same trick on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and succeeded too.
He said as the 2027 general elections approached, there is a dire need for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to empower APC members in Anambra State that are on ground. That the promise of non-APC members to give him 25% of votes in Anambra State will not work because he believes it is another scheme to further deceive President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
