APGA Ogboro Ward Ihiala Celebrates Soludo's Electoral Conquest

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

Dioha's compound in Umuike Ubahuekwem Ihiala, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State was filled to capacity on Saturday 22nd November 2025 with over 15 canopies occupied by APGA faithful as the Director-General of Soludo's Reelection Campaign Council in Ogboro ward Hon. Dr. Barr. Uzoma Charles Dioha hosted them to a very sumptuous, delectable victory party.

The victory party was organized to thank and appreciate all of them for their dogged fight in ensuring that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won all the polling units in Ogboro ward with very wide margins irrespective of the broad daylight futile efforts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Young Progressive Party (YPP) to deceive the people with money for them to vote against APGA.

The victory party which was strictly grassroots oriented showed the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Solution Kindred Party Structure  (Umunna) as Soludo's reelection project was taken personal by all the polling units chairmen and women who recounted their experiences during the election.

Addressing them, Ogboro ward campaign DG Barr. Dioha, said their efforts can not be neglected because they were on ground to ensure that opposition elements didn't hijack the process. Dioha noted that they were the ones who gave APGA success in the 2025 governorship election in Ogboro ward.

He maintained that Ogboro ward will continue to deliver on its mandate because Ogboro ward, according to him, is APGA including the entire Ihiala Local Government Area; that no opposition exists in the area.

Chief Daniel Odinaka the vice chairman of polling unit 002 Ogboro ward recalled when electoral materials were exhausted and they resorted to several phone calls until the situation was addressed. He said thereafter APGA won with 90 votes in polling unit 002.

Although Chief Odinaka alleged that the APC and YPP tried to thwart the process with vote-buying but yet still, they were defeated because the people agreed that Governor Soludo deserved another term in office for him to consolidate and continue with his transformative governance.

Mrs. Agatha Ezeano, the chairman of polling unit 001 St. Gregory Parish Ubahuekwem Ihiala said there were too many challenges on the election day because the APC and YPP, according to her, were using money to woo voters.

Mrs. Ezeano however expressed joy that in spite of deliberate attempts by opposition elements to buy votes with money, she and her team were able to convince as well as canvass votes for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo based on what he has done in Anambra State especially in Ihiala Local Government Area, adding that in the end, APGA scored 93 votes and won the process at polling unit 001 St. Gregory Parish Ubahuekwem.

Meanwhile Mgbeojebi Fidelix of Umuwaji village in Ogboro community, said APGA carried the day in polling units 004 and 009 at Urban Primary School Ogboro. He said APGA got 92 votes in polling unit 009 and scored 73 votes in polling unit 004, adding that they were able to convince the people that APGA is the political party for the entire Igbo nation.

Ugbaja Nnamdi of Umuike Ubahuekwem Ihiala whose polling unit was at Afoigwe Primary School (012), said it was APGA all the way because they won landslide at the polling unit; just as Mr. Chinedu Awugosi, stated that APGA maintained it lead at polling units 007 and 013 respectively at All Saints Church Ogboro.

Awugosi however revealed that the only challenge they had was APC trying to induce voters with money but according to him, they were able to surmount the challenge by telling the people the reasons they should cast their votes for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) which they achieved with resounding victory.

Mrs. Grace Ugwuefemba, APGA chairman polling unit 015 Ogboroisila, stated that they garnered 93 votes for APGA but two were invalid. She mentioned that one Barr. Greg Okafor, an APGA stalwart in the area was the secret of their success as he helped a great deal to mobilise as well as convinced people to vote Governor Soludo and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) because the governor, according to him, has done exceedingly well and deserved to be reelected.

The victory party was a memorable experience for the grassoots mobilisers, who fought tooth and nail to ensure that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo won resoundingly in Ogboro ward and thereafter all who attended the victory party smiled home gleefully.
