RAYMOND OZOJI reports
Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has made it categorically and abundantly clear that street urchins with questionable characters and ill-gotten educational qualifications can not be governors in a state where the likes of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Akwueke Nwafor Orizu, Odumegwu Ojukwu, Chinua Achebe and a host of other academic giants originated from.
Soludo made this statement at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium Aguata Local Government Area during the Anambra-South second term endorsement mega rally for him and his Deputy Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
He said people with questionable secondary school certificates and those whose SS3 examinations and G.C.E were written for them by machineries can not be governors in Anambra State because the citizens are not fools and they can not be taken for granted.
The governor said Anambra has advanced and can not afford to go back, stressing that street urchins and persons without pedigree can not come and decieve the people into voting them in and plunge the state into perpetual and eternal regrets.
Soludo noted that some of the characters opting to be Governor of Anambra State have no school certificates and that their antecedents indicted them because of their past records with illegitimacy and illegality.
He said Anambra is on the rise and that the general and overall consensus of the citizenry is that the Solution Government should continue on the trajectory of its transformative governance and quality leadership.
Governor Soludo also pointed out that another consensus of Ndi-Anambra is that there is zoning in the state. That after his 8 years in office, the next governor will come from Anambra-Central senatorial zone.
According to him, anybody contesting the governorship election from Anambra-South is trying to disrupt the zoning system in the state. He said some people are going around lying to the people that they would do just one tenure, if elected : when the Constitution allows one eight years of two tenures.
He said such individual should be taken to a psychiatric home for mental examinations because the person must have some mental problems.
