Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra State, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has officially commenced campaigns for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against Peter Obi and candidates of other political parties.
This was the crux of the matter at a strategic meeting of political parties convened by the governor at the International Convention Centre Awka, where he categorically charged them to go and deliver their wards and polling units for the reelection of President Tinubu and jettison other candidates.
As the January 16th presidential election approaches, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Accord party have formed a coalition to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wins in Anambra State.
Addressing the coalition, Governor Soludo made it sufficiently clear that the reelection of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu comes up on the 16th of January 2027 and that the sole purpose of the coalition is about the president.
Soludo said that Anambra State is focusing on the reelection of the president and that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially adopted Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its presidential candidate, adding that it was not the first time APGA is doing so.
He said Anambra is a consequential state and can not afford to sit on the fence or be separated from the mainstream of Nigerian politics. The governor disclosed that there is a wide consensus across the country that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should continue in office because he has met and surpassed expectations of the citizenry.
According to him, the 2027 presidential election would be between temporary emotions and strategic reasoning. He recalled that Anambra State didn't vote for Tinubu in the last presidential election yet Anambra State has a full-fledged minister coupled with board membership slots and construction of Enugu-Onitsha road, construction of bypasses of the Second Niger-Bridge from Obosi to Nkwere and Ogbunike together with other major projects.
Soludo told the gathering that they don't dislike anybody. That even the NDC presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi is his brother and family friend but they both differ in one area which is politics. He said the meeting was not a ceremony but a platform to usher them into the field to win their various polling units for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be reelected.
He said it would be a mass movement and that everybody is equal in the journey to reelect the president. Highpoint of the strategic meeting was the formal inauguration of the presidential campaign council by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
