I Will Speak To Nigeria For Idemili-North And South -- Anyamene

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Idemili-North and South Federal Constituency election next year, Engr. Eric Nnamdi Anyamene, says he will speak to the country on behalf of Idemili-North and South to address fundamental needs in the two local government areas.

Anyamene who spoke to journalists in his palatial Obosi country home in Idemili-North Local Government Area of the state, said he will deploy his relationships across the country to speak vehemently for his people in Idemili-North and South federal constituency and believes very strongly that Nigeria will listen to him.

Anyamene said he is well-known in the nation's federal capital territory Abuja and equally has cordial relations with those in the federal government which he believes are added advantage to his aspiration. He emphasized that his mission to the National Assembly was not to go and become a spectator but to galvanise his contacts and networks for the betterment of Idemili-North and South federal constituency.

He said he is known as a proud Igbo son and a strong Nigerian, stressing that the nation will listen to him when he comes to the table to discuss the issues bordering his people in Idemili-North and South federal constituency.

On the allegations of bringing Bauchi State Government to bear on the incoming Idemili-North and South House of Representatives election next year, Anyamene explained that Bauchi State is in the Northeast of the country while Idemili-North and South federal constituency is the Southeast geo-political of Nigeria.

Although he admitted that he is quite close to the Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Abdulkareem Mohammed but he made it sufficiently clear that his relationship with the Bauchi state governor has absolutely nothing to do with Idemili-North and South House of Representatives election.

Anyamene who stated that there was need for extensive relationships across the country for one to succeed at the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, maintained that the National Assembly isn't the state assembly where issues affecting the state are discussed alone but a place where issues of national concerns are discussed.

He emphasized the need for handshake across the Niger for one to succeed at the National Assembly, noting that what he would take to the National Assembly if elected, is his deep knowledge, the rich culture of the Igbo race as well as the added advantage of having relationships across Nigeria.
