Over 500 Sick Persons Benefit From CEDYK Medical Mission In Anambra

From Theo James

It was a big relief for over 500 ailing persons who benefited from a medical outreach organised by the Community Empowerment Development Youth and Knowledge (CEDYK).

The outreach was held at St. John’s Anglican Church, located along the Nnewi South LGA Secretariat Road, Ukpor.

Beneficiaries started trooping to the outreach centre as early as 9:00 a.m.

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of CEDYK in Nnewi South LGA, Bro. Iyke Uzukwu, said the group embarked on the outreach to provide respite for many individuals who cannot afford proper medical care due to the current economic situation in the country.

Uzukwu, popularly known as Anambra Prophet, said over 500 persons received treatment for different ailments, including eye problems, arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and other conditions.

He said as a matter of fact that with the situation of things in Nigeria at the moment, people who are blessed should learn to remember those who are struggling to survive on daily basis.

Anambra Prophet applauded the individuals who have chosen the path of offering a helping hand to the needy in the society.

He appealed to the political class to always remember to give the populace a credible, responsible governance that would address the poverty situation in the country.

“Many politicians actually contacted us to sponsor our programmes, especially the medical outreach, but we didn’t oblige them because they don’t have any record of offering assistance to any needy person in their respective communities.

Uzukwu said the medical outreach would soon be expanded to cover the entire Nnewi South LGA and other LGAs in Anambra State.

He appreciated the health workers who partnered with CEDYK for the outreach.

A 70-year-old beneficiary, Madam Ogbu, thanked CEDYK for bringing relief to over 500 patients who had been suffering in silence due to lack of resources to take care of themselves medically.
