The measure of a great leader is not the number of idle touts raised all over the places by an individual to attack people with opposing views but the number of lives positively impacted by actions of a person.
These actions are exercised irrespective of religious, ethnic and or political affiliation.
A great leader is not a conditional philanthropist, who gives aids and adjust to extremism because he wants to contest for a position in an election.
Gov. Dave Umahi over the years has consistently transformed many lives in Ebonyi State and beyond, interestingly, he has been doing this without publicity and media showings.
In response to his dedication to party politics and his unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability, H.E. Senator Dave Umahi was appointed acting chairman of People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State in 2007 to help in stabilizing the party.
As a grassroot Commander General(CG), happy s outstanding and unprecedented performance earned Engr. Dave Umahi the substantive Chairmanship position, when he was overwhelmingly elected the Ebonyi State Chairman of PDP in 2009.
Engr Hon. Dave Umahi who became the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State in 2011 and elected Governor in 2015, grew through the ranks, which is a major evidence of a great leader.
As a State Governor between 2015 and 2023, Senator Dave Umahi empowered a whole lot of people. Many were promoted from Local government Chairmen to Commissioners.
Our Man of the Moment, H.E. Sen. Umahi is not a leader who will not want people around him to grow by aspiring for greater position, but he will rather encourage them to do so.
Gov. Dave Umahi will never leave people who worked with him and import people from diaspora to become commissioners . No wonder, at expiration of his eight years as a governor, he has to select from his many aides and picked a successor among them rather than sourcing for one from overseas as is the case with many political office holders across the country in general and in Southeast in particular.
Gov. Dave Umahi trust people and believe that he is not the only perfect human being in the Southeast. When he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), he fought aggressively to ensure that his followers won both Senatorial and House of Representatives seats.
The trail blazer who is now a Minister of Works is not selfish politician, who only aspire for self alone, Engr Umahi derives joy in collective growth of all the persons around him unlike many individuals who are of the opinion that once they have gotten their own positions, the interest of their followers do not matter at all.
Gov. Dave Umahi, the Shooting Star from the East is like a General in the Army who no matter the circumstances in the in the war front can never abandon the corpse of his subordinate and go home.
South East people are naturally egalitarian in nature. At this point in time, we need a true leader who can offer sense of direction to Ndigbo and not a Content Creator.
With an overwhelming track records of Gov. Dave Umahi, I can see a Great Leader in him, he is capable of leading the Southeast region and her people in the right direction and to the promised land of Socioeconomic and political actualization.
