House of Representatives member representing Ihiala federal constituency at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike, has assured his constituents that he will never disappoint them nor fall short of their expectations, if given the mandate for his second term aspiration.
Agbodike who has turned Ihiala federal constituency into a construction site with projects and programmes in tandem with the most pressing needs of the people, said his first term in office endeared him to his people which he said resulted in the massive endorsements and validation he has received from all the zones in Ihiala.
Agbodike who is the caucus leader of APGA House of Representatives in Nigeria and also member of the ECOWAS parliament, told journalists at the Light House Awka shortly after Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's in camera session with aspirants and party faithful ahead of the May 23rd APGA primaries, that it is obvious that power belonged to the people and that the governor has demonstrated it by giving power back to the people
According to him, an office holder seeking a second term in office, should first and foremost present his scorecard which he believes would campaign for the individual and not otherwise.
He therefore emphasized that predicated on the foregoing, he convened an enlarged and elaborate meeting of Ihiala federal constituents both party and non-party members and presented what he mentioned as a resounding scorecard based on the journey so far at the National Assembly.
According to him, all the zones in Ihiala federal constituency attested to the fact that he has performed exceedingly well and indeed worthy to be reelected for a second term in office to serve Ihiala federal constituency again.
Agbodike who stated that he has been able to defend the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) at the National Assembly, defended the people of Ihiala Local Government Area and defended his conscience as a human being, expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the people of Ihiala, who, according to him, trooped en masse to endorse him at his formal declaration ceremony, as they all concurred in one unanimous voice that he surpassed their expectations and deserves to be returned.
Although the Ihiala-born ECOWAS parliamentarian noted that Ihiala people made it categorically clear that nobody should challenge him but as a believer of democracy and the rule of law, he said it is the right of everyone to contest but it is equally the right of the people to make their own choices.
Agbodike emphasized that from the people's consensus opinion, they said he has done well and that his scorecard is speaking for him.
He however advised other contestants who are bent on going to the polls with him to wait as there is always tomorrow. That nobody should attempt to dim the light that is already shining so bright in Ihiala federal constituency.
He said he has what it takes to get the good things that Ihiala Local Government Area has not seen since inception. He said he would make the list of principal officers of the income House of Representatives because of his wealth of experience in law-making, his academic pedigree as a Ph.D holder coupled with the good relationship he has established with the leadership of the National Assembly.
Agbodike said, " I know the road and I can deliver. It would be to the advantage of Ihiala federal constituency, if I become a principal officer in the National Assembly."
Agbodike who is the Secretary of the entire Southern Nigerian caucus House of Representatives Nigeria, a two-time state legislator as well as former Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, reinforced his position that he will not disappoint Ihiala people if reelected instead Ihiala people should expect more from him.
