LG Election: Non-Indigenes Endorse Chinedu Okafor For Awka-South Chairmanship




The Association of Non Indigenes Welfare of Anambra State(ANISA/ ANIAS) has endorsed the incumbent Mayor of Awka South LGA, Hon. Prince Chinedu Okafor for second term in office.


As a mark of their support for the reelection of Hon Okafor, the Association presented him with a cheque of five million Naira (#5,000,000.00) five million Naira to purchase his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.


The Association under the leadership of Chief Great Ikechukwu Ugwuoke(JP) and delegates from the twenty one council areas of Anambra State on Friday, passed a vote of confidence on Hon.Okafor to continue his good work as Mayor of Awka South. 


The endorsement which attracted the National Officers of ANISA/ANIAS, LGA Executives and members unanimously agreed that Hon Chinedu Okafor having performed beyond expectations within the few months in office deserves second term.


This according to ANISA/ANIAS is to enable him perfect the good works which he has commenced in educational sector, security, peaceful and conducive environment for business to thrive, empowerment to both market women and youths and many more.


Speaking during the meeting, the President General (PG) of ANISA/ ANIAS, Chief Ugwuoke described Mayor of Awka South LGA as a politician with human feeling whose brand of politics is hard to find in the political space at the moment.


The Association also appealed to the party delegates to vote massively for Hon. Chinedu Okafor so as to emerge as the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the August 29 LGA polls.


In his response, the incumbent Mayor of Awka South LGA, Hon. Okafor in company of some of the Councillors and other officials of the council appreciated the uncommon gesture of ANISA/ ANIAS.


He particularly applauded the appreciated the leadership of the association for their thoughtfulness and kindness by coming out openly to declare their support his candidature.


The Mayor Awka South LGA assured his guests that he would do more for the indigenes and non Indigenes living in Awka South and environs if he emerged victorious on August 29.
