As the 2027 general elections gradually set-in, Idemili-North and South federal constituents have adopted a consensus opinion to rally round Chief Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu, the Oba-born billionaire business magnate popularly known as Ike Cubana, aspiring to change the status quo of political and developmental retardation in the two local government areas.
Stakeholders from Idemili-North and South local government areas who were present at his official declaration ceremony recently in his Oba country home mansion, unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Ike Cubana, declaring in one accord that he is the best choice for the constituency this time around.
The stakeholders in their separate speeches including the Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Comrade Don Onyenji, who hails from Akwa-Ukwu in Idemili-South Local Government Area, endorsed Ike Cubana's Reps ambition, assuring him that he would get the support and ratification of stakeholders.
Idemili-South Local Government chairperson, Hon. Mrs. Iyom Amaka Obi, who spoke to this journalist, described Ikenna Iyiegbu as a faithful party man. That in spite of losing in the last national elections, Ike Cubana remained loyal to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA); contributing his quota to the growth and development of APGA especially in Idemili sub-region.
Amaka Obi who is a native of Awka-Etiti in Idemili-South council area, maintained that stakeholders of Idemili-North and South will rally round Ike Cubana because she believes very strongly that the time has come for him to represent the constituency at the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.
Meanwhile the President-General of Umuoji community in Idemili-North Local Government Area, Chief Ifeanyi Muoemenam, in his brief remarks expressed optimism that Ikenna Iyiegbu will triumph in the forthcoming national assembly elections because according to him, stakeholders are solidly behind him.
Moreso, the APGA party chairman in Idemili-South Local Government Area, Hon. Kizito Anoliefo, who was represented by his Deputy at the declaration ceremony, noted that the lessons learnt from the last House of Representatives elections would be implemented this time to ensure that Ikenna Iyiegbu wins because he believes he is a man of the people and deserves their collective mandate.
Anoliefo however harped on the ongoing voter registration exercise, stressing that they should all endeavour to pick their voters' cards because it would serve as their weapons in the forthcoming general elections.
On his part, Deputy chairman of Idemili-North Local Government Area Dr. Mbakaogu, who represented the Chairman, Hon. Stanley Chigbo Nkwoka, described Ike Cubana as a selfless individual who lives for others; putting smiles on their faces through genuine philanthropy and charitable gestures.
Other stakeholders who took turns to speak including the President-General of Oba community, Chief Anthony Uzor Ejiofor concurred that Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu is a suitable replacement for the incumbent, whom they believe has poorly represented Idemili-North and South federal constituency.
