RAYMOND OZOJI reports
The people of Orumba-North state constituency in Anambra State have unanimously agreed and decided that Honourable Mazi Paul Obu the incumbent House member representing Orumba-North constituency in the state assembly will be returned in 2027 because of his outstanding stewardship.
Critical stakeholders from the constituency who spoke to HEADLINE NEWS about the performance of Honourable Mazi Paul Obu, revealed that the lawmaker has surpassed the efforts of his predecessors and equally surpassed the expectations of the people as they all concurred that the coming of the lawmaker marked a watershed and turning point in the history of political representation in the state assembly.
The critical stakeholders who described Paul Obu as non-discriminatory in the spread and distribution of constituency projects and programmes, said they were all witnesses to the fact that the lawmaker has provided platforms for people to be lifted out of poverty, hunger and unemployment even as they emphasized that the lawmaker's two years in office has been very resourceful, remarkable and result-oriented.
Chief Okey Enekwe in his opinion said that the question of Paul Obu being eligible for a second term in office is inconsequential because if the lawmaker doesn't get a second term in the state assembly, it means that the entire system in Orumba-North have failed.
Enekwe explained that Model Primary Healthcare Centre Amagu Ajali has been in a state of decay for decades and that no constituency representative from Orumba-North cared to attend to it except Honourable Mazi Paul Obu, adding that the lawmaker is more than qualified for a second term in office.
Mazi Okey Nworie who is the Chairman of Amagu Development Union Amagu village Ajali said there was no point over flooding issues because Paul Obu, according to him, is a marketable product. He said the lawmaker recently commissioned a 3-bed room staff quarters he built for doctors and nurses at Model Primary Healthcare Centre Amagu, which he equally renovated and refurbished from years of abandonment and decay.
Mazi Nworie noted that by virtue of what they have seen so far, there is no comparison as he believes Paul Obu stands out from the crowd and he has the second term ticket already.
Chief Fred Okol who is the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orumba-North Local Government said Paul Obu is a man of the people and that every other political party in Orumba-North will vote for Paul Obu again because he deserves a second term in office.
The APC chieftain stated that Paul Obu has done well and he is eligible for a second term in office. He explained that the lawmaker has the natural proclivity for helping and uplifting people even before he ventured into politics. According to him, the lawmaker is more than qualified to go for a second term and they will ensure that his second term aspiration is accomplished irrespective of his political party affiliation.
Another critical stakeholder who identified himself as Mazi Angus Ochiogu, who was a member of the State Working Committee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for 12 years in Anambra State, said Honourable Mazi Paul Obu has done well. He said they were even contemplating on elevating him to the Federal House of Representatives because his performance showed that he merited such positions.
Ochiogu said the lawmaker's second term reelection is non-negotiable and that all the political parties in Orumba-North will vote him again because he has redefined the concept of governmental representation in the House of Assembly.
