Anambra Former Political Appointees Vow To Remove Soludo From Office

RAYMOND OZOJI reports

Anambra state former political appointees have vowed to remove the incumbent governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo from office on November 8th this year over allegations of deceit and fake promises.

The resolution to unseat the governor was made during the official endorsement of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma) by the former appointees in Awka.

Convener of the former appointees and senior aide to the Senate president, Owelle Onyeka Mbaso while addressing journalists alleged that Soludo promised former political appointees upon assumption of office that he would pay them severance allowances which he didn't pay.

Mbaso maintained that as it stands at the moment, former appointees no longer care about the severance allowances anymore; that what they want to do now is to unseat him for him to know the capacity of the former appointees.

Mbaso recalled that former political appointees told Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo that they would deliver him in 2021 which they did but expressed sadness that instead of the governor to fulfill his promise to them, he absconded.

He emphasized that by November 8th this year, the governor will know that former appointees are the organic structure in Anambra State; that they are moving forward to unseat him.

The former appointees convener who described the governor as an ingrate, said comparatively what is on ground in Anambra State is nothing to compare to other states, stressing that Anambra under the incumbent governor is nothing to write home about as it concerns progressive development.

He said in very strong terms that unseating Governor Soludo is very simple because the way he was delivered in 2021 is the same way he would be removed from office.
