RAYMOND OZOJI reports
The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mazi Ejimofor Opara PhD, has stated that APGA has no opposition in Anambra State.
Opara who stated this at the weekend in Awka while addressing journalists shortly after the issuance of Certificates of Return to candidates of the party for next year's national elections, opined that the likes of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and others were non-existent in the state as Anambra, according to him, is APGA land.
Opara emphasized that he doesn't see any opposition and that APGA has very strong candidates for the elections next year. The APGA national publicity secretary who described NDC as an arrangement of convenience, stressed that he doubts if the NDC would survive beyond the political season because he personally doesn't see them as a political party.
Opara therefore told newsmen that the All Progressives Grand Alliance has issued Certificates of Return to the successful candidates of the party who were victorious during the primary elections in Anambra State.
According to him, 44 candidates comprising 3 senatorial candidates, 11 House of Representatives candidates and 30 state assembly candidates, adding that all of them have been sorted out by the party.
He said APGA is on course and the party has beat the electoral guidelines and deadlines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), stressing that APGA would be the first political party to submit list of candidates to the apex electoral umpire and also get ready for the elections next year.
