Investigations from Nkpor community in Idemili-North Local Government Area of Anambra State have revealed that one Chinasa, a private nursing sister who operated a roadside medicine store in Nkpor has been brutally murdered by her bricklayer boyfriend over her refusal to accept his marriage proposal.
Chief security officer of Nkpor community, Chris Okey Udeze, who spoke to this journalist about the unfortunate death of Chinasa, said the deceased who is a single mother was involved in a love affair with Ifeanyi, a popular bricklayer living in one room apartment in the neighbourhood and another truck driver who opened the medicine shop for her.
Udeze said information he gathered was that late Chinasa was more sexually involved with the bricklayer than the truck driver and they both enjoyed the relationship.
But according to him, trouble began when the bricklayer boyfriend proposed marriage to her and she declined on the condition that she doesn't want something permanent with him.
He thereafter lured Chinasa to spend the night with him in his one room apartment which had only a bed and on that fateful night, he strangled her to death and buried her in a shallow grave around the compound where he lived in the cover of the night amidst heavy rainfall.
According to the Nkpor chief security officer, Chinasa hailed from Enugu Ezike in Enugu State and lived in Umusiome Nkpor area while her boyfriend, Ifeanyi popularly known as Ifee is a native of Nkanu also in Enugu state.
He said that the boyfriend invited her to spend the night with him on the 3rd of June, 2026 and it is alleged that he killed her because she declined his marriage proposal and buried her in a shallow grave in the compound where he lives in Isingwu Nkpor Agu.
He said that the boyfriend tried to make her disappearance look like kidnap but the siblings however suspected that he may have harmed their sister and had him apprehended with the help of one Obalum, a local vigilante when he attempted to escape and handed him over to Ogidi police station where he eventually confessed to have murdered the girl, adding that the bricklayer boyfriend has been handed over to the state CID in Awka where he is helping the police with their investigation.
Udeze further disclosed that the remains of nurse Chinasa has since been dug up and deposited at lyi Enu mortuary Ogidi in Idemili-North council area of the state.
